  • With the help of Orbitz and the idea to travel, we found ourselves at the Stratosphere. It was inexpensive and awesome. Some big tower shooting up out of nowhere, it's lovely isn't it? A little bit away from the main drag of the strip, about a mile and a half from the major stuff, two from TI and so forth. Not bad, so let me tell you how it went. We land at McCarran and what do we see waiting for the cabs, the needle! Land ho, here we go. We arrive with jitters and practically fall out of the cab with excitement, grab our luggage and in we go to the magical world of a casino. Nice. We probably got into the hotel about midnight and we had to check in and drop our things off before we could explore. The wait time wasn't long, maybe a little less than 20 minutes and the line was fairly long, there were maybe 5 people working behind the counter so it moved pretty fast. We headed to the elevators through the casino which wasn't that far away but there was no direct route for us to go and headed up to our rooms. My issue with this is that right when you walk into the hotel lobby POW there it is, the casino which is great yeah sure but to travel with luggage for actual guests of the hotel with now actual path to hit the elevators bothers me a bit. I can't pin point a finger on exactly why this is but I feel the lay out should be different. OH and that C-Bar right smack in the middle, awkward moment right there. It's like it doesn't want to be there but it is. Maybe I will and add it to the photos? Anybody? So I'll go on about the room, awesome except for no fridge! Uh whattheheck?! Yeah you want us out of the room we get it but really?! We had 2 queen room, lots of space, huge bathroom only one sink but plenty of counter space for three young ladies. Closet space, draw space (which didn't really get utilized but it's available!), lamps and lights and a big ass mirror. Huge flat screen, unsure of the stations available we didn't really flip through much. The colors were pretty and there was a pillow that could probably knock someone out on the beds, when it hit the wall I thought someone fell into our door! That is how thick and large and heavy this thing is. Yup I sound like I just described something else didn't I? I won't change it, I can't it's what this pillow-majigy was. I'm adding a business listing for the shops inside the Stratosphere, so check that out (The Shops at the Stratosphere). The bus stop was right outside a little bit away across from Carls Junior (PS. When I was a kid living in Burbank.. best ever! I didn't return though I wanted to keep the magic alive in my head). Check out The Deuce listing on Yelp so you can read my review of their transit system and I guess some other peoples too. The casino itself is in a fight with me, I refused to give up my money but when I did it would just eat it, damn you casino. Damn you. There are some okay bars in here like the Back Alley Bar, Roxy has one, Level 107/108, C-Bar, Level 8, the Italian place we never checked out and the Buffet I'm sure too although we didn't get there either. The drink service at tables/machines isn't that steady, I rarely saw someone coming around and when I did, she never stopped at us and yes we were playing. There is Top of the World, I will be reviewing as well separately like I've already done a few other things in the hotel. Oh the Starbucks in here is a rip off, they're rude too and charge extras up the wazoo for things free at any other Starbucks I've been too. Great service ladies, faaaaaantastic. Yup! The observation deck is something to definitely check out. It's free with your room key and outsiders have to pay. I am not sure of all the pricing and we didn't do any rides so I'm sorry I can't be of help to that. Room service was alright we only had them come once in the four days we were there and it was so we could replenish the towels. Check out, damn they were banging on the door five minutes of the time we had to bounce so that was a little eek! Relax let us get out the door before storming in. Check out was flawless though and the bell desk held our bags for a bit till we had to catch our flight out of there. Great guys, great service overall at the Stratosphere, I would definitely return if I was thinking of going back to Las Vegas again. Disclaimer! For some reason I feel like I may have forgotten something, I've had this drafted for a week and I just want to keep adding to it. Please tell me if I bored you.
