| - Really enjoyed my visit to ODB! Chris Cloniger, one of the owners, was bartending the day I went. He's really friendly and just a genuine great guy. Knows a lot about local NC beers and the beer scene. Got to meet the brewer Bo who was in action getting ready to add yeast to a brew batch. He went over the hop profiles on the Pale Ale and IPA and was very approachable.
Not 100% sure, but for a while it seemed you could only get their beer at local events/ball games. Now that their taproom is open you can go to the source on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. Down to earth cozy taproom with a window to the outside for walk up service. They're on an 8 acre lot and have plans for future expansion.
The guest taps are well selected and had beers from the likes of NODA, Birdsong, D-9, Legion and Lazy Hiker. Add to that Cherry Bobbin Trolls from Red Clay Cider Works and a selection of wines from Shelton Vineyards.
I like that they started with some solid Flagship beers to introduce themselves. A Wit, IPA, Pale Ale and then branching out into an Imperial Coffee Stout. I really enjoyed their IPA (American Style), but hands down their Rebel Y'Ale American Pale Ale was the winner, winner, chicken dinner for me!! Great nose on that one!!! Would love to see their version of a West Coast IPA!
Looking forward to going back! A little off the beaten path but well worth the visit! Can't wait to see what Chris and Bo come up with next!!!
