| - Tempe Dogs is the only place I'd ever bring my boys to. They're staffed by fanatical dog people who just love animals through and through. It's an original concept: open boarding, live-staffed 24/7, 365. It's nearly impossible to find any other boarding service with this combo and it's perfect for active dogs that like to play. Basically, it's like an entire day at an indoor dog park.
The other reviewer who left a one star review is frankly delusional. Yes, you may have to ring the bell if no one is up front because they're sometimes back with the dogs. There are plenty of women who work there (4 of whom I can name off the top of my head), but way to judge a place based on your one single visit. The place definitely has a smell. It's the disinfectant they use. And I won't lie, my boys come home with a bit of that scent on them, but that's because they're so rigorous with how they clean (and golden coats are sponges.) It's not to everyone's liking, but it's what they do to keep the place safe. And as for her fourth opinion about "boys scruffing dogs," I really have no clue what they're talking about. I know that the staff is just crazy about dogs and treating every single one of them like family, and playing with them the right way. They're insanely generous, and loving, and it shows in everything they do, but most importantly, it shows in how our boys respond to the place. THEY LOVE IT.
Taking them to "the place" as we call it (in contrast to the park, where it's too damn hot right now) gets them so excited they BOWL me over when I open the door.
Tempe Dogs does everything right. The pricing is insanely competitive, they treat your dogs like family, they're available whenever (literally WHENEVER) you need, including being able to call at 2am to check in, they take tons of photos and videos and post them to Facebook so you can follow along on longer stays, and they're just wonderful.
My boys come home thoroughly exhausted and contented, and as young goldens, I couldn't be happier that they're getting the exercise and socialization they crave.
Take your dog for a test visit and see how happy they are. If they love a dog park, they'll LOVE this place. Almost every other kennel only promises "at least an hour of social time!" and most charge way more. I don't think I've found any that offer true 24/7 live staffing, either. (Usually, they'll have a caretaker around in case of emergencies, but you can't call them to check on your pups or check out at 2am if your flight gets in late.)
This place is run by phenomenal people who do great work. Couldn't be happier with my dozens of nights and days I've had the boys there.
