  • So I give today's server, Marvin, a 5 star...I give the establishment 1 star. This is strictly under the dietary restrictions that I have as a celiac. The restaraunt is convenient, service is relatively good, but extremely uneducated in regards to food allergies (I will go into further explanation). After a week of coming here as I have been staying at the Hard Rock, I have been pondering where on earth I was afflicted with cross contamination. I have been enlightened today by my server (Marvin) who has gone above and beyond. The menu has a few gluten free options... pancakes, Belgian waffles.... great, except I don't care to get fat on this trip, and well, those gluten free options are not dairy free. Little known fact (apparently), many people who suffer celiac disease cannot consume dairy.. I have learned how to piece together meals at restaraunts where the staff are not properly educated/aware/trained/give a shit about food allergies, but I deal with it by asking questions and making myself knowledgeable of things I need to avoid. Despite my efforts to check what I could eat on the menu and the reassurance of the staff (prior to Marvin) I have gotten sick and remained sick throughout most of my time here in Vegas. The culprit? The couple of times I ate hashbrowns and a salad where after consuming 2/3 rds of it, I found pieces of croutons. If you peer at the menu you would see hashbrowns arent listed gluten free, I ask about the ingredients for each item (yes my body has forced me to be that person) and every single time until today (tuesday-monday) I have been reassured of the hashbrowns being potatoes and oil ONLY. The non gluten free aspect was simply the toast. Wrong, most hashbrowns use flour to make them crisper and these are not the exception (thank you lazy servers for not only making me sick but compromising my immune system for a couple of weeks). So the food here is good but if you need to avoid anything in particular I recommend going elsewhere, unless of course you encounter the server Marvin who was capable in helping me find something to suit my cravings as well as dietary restrictions (corned beef hash utilizing the corned beef from the Reubens vs. The breakfast where it is cooked in butter and so on so forth). Next year, unless something dramatic happens, Mr. Luckys will not even be considered a last resort for food. This was by far the best meal I have had here and most likely my last.
