I love the YELP meet the maker events. What a great way to learn about a local business, taste their wonderful products and meet other fun yelpers. I have been fortunate enough to be invited to three of these so far.
Wren House brewery is just about a mile away from where I live. I watched with great anticipation as they went through the process of opening, and then honestly never took the time to go check them out. My mistake!
There are beers are wonderful. But I already knew that I loved their IPA since I had it at Lou Malnati's where they have it on tap. They served us four of their beers for the tasting we did and they were paired with food from Postino's, how can you beat that! Afterwords I tried a few more of their beers and had a pint of their unfiltered IPA
In addition to the wonderful beer the highlight of the evening was the education that Luke, the brewmaster, shared with us. It was very interesting but also told him a non-technical way. I am sure he could of blown us away with all kinds of technical knowledge (and we would've been bored), instead it was an enjoyable educational experience.
We got to tour the facilities and see what they had done to this former bakery property. I have been in a number of breweries and I love to see how each one is designed in the eye of the brewmaster.
A big shout out to all of the staff at Wren House they were fantastic. And of course a shout out to Hailey for putting together this event, as well as the other meet the maker of events.
