  • I haven't been exposed to many traditional Spanish cuisine, but I know that I enjoy tapas, and flavorful foods and Jaleo seems to offer all of the above. While my gf waited for her boyfriend to finish his Slot Tournament, we went upstairs to find something to eat, and since we haven't been to Jaleo and always wanted to try, we went for it. At around 6pm, we were able to get seated immediately. Our Waiter came just as soon as the Hostess seated us and offered to get drinks. He seem knowledgeable about the menu when asked, and offered great options on what we needed to get to compliment our dishes. Pulpo A Feira Maestro Alfonso, boiled Octopus w/pee wee potatoes sprinkled with Spanish Paprika and Olive oil alone was much too salty, however, when eating with Pan De Cristal Con Tomate Fresco, toasted ethereal bread brushed with fresh tomato, it balanced out salt with the acidity of the tomatoes perfectly. Aceitunas Rellenas Y Aceitunas 'Ferrán Adrià' , Olive stuffed Anchovies and liquid olives was by far my favorite tapas, EVER. I absolutely loved every single bite of this dish. Arroz de pato 'Jean Luis Palladin', Rice w/duck confit, foie cream & PX Reduction was just so so. The rice was cooked well, but bland as well as duck. The Foie cream was on a sweet side and lack that awesome livery, minerally taste of foie I've grown to love. The waiter forgot to put in some other appetizers and our Rossejat, traditional paella of fried pasta with fresh squid and shrimp w/a dallop of garlic aioli sauce, so we had to wait about 15 minutes for this dish but it was so delicious! Well worth the wait. I know that some patrons have had bad experience with the rice in the Paella not being thoroughly cooked, this dish is the best solution to that problem! Traditionally, paella can take up to 45 minutes, if you don't want to wait that long, opt for this dish. It has all the great tastes of Paella but less the time. I especially loved the fishiness of this dish as well as the creaminess of the aioli. So damn delicious!
