| - Had an urge to go to our favorite spot today, but we're breakfast people and love finding new places, so we ended up at BLD. Waited about 5 minutes for a table, friendly waitress, busy at 10:30. I asked for a menu to look at while we waited, YIKES!!! The prices were expensive, I asked my BF if he wanted to stay, we still had time to sneak out before they called our name but as soon as he was about to speak our table was ready. We couldn't back out now... still scouting out the overly priced menu after being seated, I finally decided on The Breakfast Burrito. Even our waiter recommended it, said it was his favorite out of everything on the menu. My BF ordered a simple stack of pancakes. We were sitting and talking, and we were in the booth that had the lovely kitchen view. I was watching all the food coming out, it all was coming out decently fast and I happened to see a burrito and a plate of pancakes pop on the line. Now, I kept an eye on it. I don't care for cold food, no one does. It's just sitting there. It then gets picked up and put on the serving line. It just sits there. I seen our waiter, oh yes! He's getting our food, wait, no... someone else's order he is delivering. A young boy then picks up what seems to be our order but follows our waiter, that was someone else's order, whew!, no cold food. But wait, I kept my eye on him, that was our order he carried across the restaurant, turned back around and proceeded back to us. Man... oh well, someone had to be at work so we just started eating. Mine was warm, was expecting hot, the pancakes were decently hot. A scant side of butter and syrup was served for the size of these mediocre pancakes. A side of green salsa was served with the burrito. As I ate, the first few bites were delicious but as I continued eating I felt like I was eating a greasy meal the more I consumed, I think it was the meat, and the amount of cheese, there was a lot of both but I didn't want to waste it for the price it was costing. It was good but not great, the potatoes were the best part. As I said above, the pancakes were mediocre. For how expensive this place is for breakfast, I don't think we'll be back. I'm still debating if it was worth the stop. When you have a feeling to go to your normal breakfast spot but also want to try something new, I'd go with your first choice.
