  • I've been in a few Orthodox Churches in my life. Holy Trinity is surely one of the most modern and beautiful churches I've seen. And, it has seats! Most Orthodox churches would be very familiar to other Christian dominations. There is a Narthex (rear area), Nave (where members sit) and a Sanctuary (behind the Rood Screen or Deacon's Doors) where the Tabernacle is kept. In Orthodox churches, the Deacon's Doors are adorn with beautiful Icons. It's also meant to separate the non-baptized catechumens, and usually only priests or acolytes that can enter it. We were here for the Baptism of one of our friend's new born (photos) and the traditions were very moving. The three blessings of the child. The three renouncings of satan. Everything in threes in accordance and a nod to the Trinity. The Priest was very welcoming, taking time to explain the different parts of the service during this seventy minute Baptism. It was very spiritual experience and I would highly recommend it to all explorers who find themselves on a journey.
