| - For those that don't know, Charlotte Russe is a chain. Its been my go-to for inexpensive but not too cheap looking clothing that won't fall apart after the first wash cycle, since HS. I believe in shopping for what I like and want, not by price bracket. I will wear a $20 Charlotte Russe blouse with a pair of G. Rossi boots and see no wrong. Charlotte Russe still has cute pieces here and there that I can add to my closet. But, DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. Unless, you want to know what if feels like to be treated like a shoplifter...even AFTER you paid for the $15, yes, FIFTEEN dollar blouse. Their loss prevention team does not understand "incognito". They seem to take pride in ruining the shopping experience for ladies. Either they hate their significant others for dragging them shopping and they take it out at at their job, or those little walkie talkie Secret Service Old Navy style behind the ear mics they speak to the sales associates on have really allowed them to feel as if they have made it past the police force they were rejected from and onto to a highly classified secret mission to protect Charlotte Russe from making money. The Plan: Making paying customers in their store feel uncomfortable, and unwelcome. For a detailed account of my experience, see below:
I worked out at 24 hr Fitness before my eye appt at LensCrafters in the mall. On my way back to my car, I saw Charlotte Russe and decided to stop in to look for around for a casual outfit for my trip to Magic Mountain next week. I immediately saw a cute wrap front blouse perfect for drinks with friends. I'm trying to cut back on shopping just to shop so I forced myself to leave it on the rack and continue on. I slowly walked around, looking at each item...because, maybe its just me, that is how I assess what is in the store. Sales associate walks up and asks if I am finding everything ok. I say, yes, I'm just looking. Cool, that's good customer srvc in my opinion. Not more than 2mins later another girl comes up, and asks the same question, so I say, "Im just looking, haven't put the look together in my head yet." Because that is also how I shop. She then proceeds to tell me that there are a bunch of racks with dresses on sale between $5-$15. Im kind of wondering if they are on commission at this point (Charlotte Russe though?) but I still take it as good customer service. Hey, I've found some CUTE items on the clearance racks and sometimes find it relaxing searching for a score! item. Some people take it as them assuming that's what you can afford, but hey...I know my bank balance, they don't so who the F cares lol. But I digress. I ultimately decide on the cute "drinks w/friends blouse and a few accessories" up front. HERE IS WHERE I REALIZED IT WAS NEVER GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE LMAO:
So I take my items to the register. SA#1 rings me up. I decide to pay with my credit card. She asks for my ID. Perfect. The struggle is real with identity fraud. But she stares at it for HellaMad long. Now, I know I just came from the gym and I am in workout clothes. I also know AZ is hella weird and licenses are valid for 289 years, but chick c'mon, I just took that pic 4 MONTHS AGO, and barely had on makeup in it. WTF are you staring at for so long?!? She finally gives me back my ID. The grand total?: $32 muthaeffing dollars and 48cents. I sign on the signature pad and she bags my items. Before I am even a foot away from the counter, Charlotte Russe Secret Service Task Force must've asked her on her earpiece if she checked my id bc she said, "Yeah, I checked it." Hey, IM STILL HERE! I tried to shake it off. But then I realized, I am the gotdamn customer. I PAID for my purchase. You verified my identity And while I am still in earshot, and in front of other customers, I am still made to feel as if I am a suspect who got away with something?!? Nope, you can take this back, and give me MY $ THAT I WORKED FOR back. And thats what I did. While processing my return loss prevention asked her IN FRONT OF ME through the earpiece "WHY IS SHE RETURNING IT?" So I told her to tell them why. Dear loss prevention: If you were good at your job, you would have recognized that I shop/browse in that store semi-regularly bc my gym is nearby. I spend $75-100 each time LEGITIMATELY. But I wont anymore. You have successfully LOST a customer and PREVENTED repeat business. kudos to you. 0stars if I could.
