| - It seems redundant to outline how horrible Southwest Dental is with so many people saying exactly the same thing, but I'm going to anyway. Yelp needs to adopt a zero-star option just for this business. These people are HORRIBLE!!!
My grandmother is 88 years old, bedridden 95% of the time, and she needed to have some work done because her teeth were hurting. There are too many things to go over in paragraph form so here's a list:
1. They made her wait for over an hour in a freezing waiting room to be seen. This is after we said specifically that she has trouble being up for any length of time.
2. They only took x-rays on a small portion of her mouth because "that was all they had time for" which was complete BS after making her wait for so long.
3. They noticed a couple of her teeth were badly decayed in the small scan so instead of doing something about it (we had an hour-long appointment) they said "no this is the consultative visit and she'll have to come back".
4. We make another appointment, get her in the wheelchair, come back, and they make her wait forever AGAIN in the freezing cold (our request to have the thermostat adjusted was denied). They then say that one tooth may need to come out. we say 'go ahead' since you already have her numbed up and they say indignantly, "we don't do that here! That's for the oral surgeon to do." HAVEN'T DENTISTS BEEN PULLING TEETH FOR CENTURIES?!!!
5. The oral surgeon is in the same complex so we ask if there are any openings to have her seen the same day since she's already numbed, and they say "no, we need a consultative appointment first." WE HAD JUST BEEN THROUGH A CONSULTATIVE APPOINTMENT WITH A DENTIST WHO SAID THE TOOTH NEEDED TO COME OUT!!!
6. Seventeen more annoying scheduling things later, we get the BS consultative thing done after waiting in an even colder waiting room. The oral surgeon says "This other tooth is decayed, why didn't the dentist fill it." We had no idea why, but clearly the dentist had no idea what he was doing and/or just wanted us to make as many appointments as possible to fill his wallet.
7. The oral surgeon refused to see her the same day for taking the tooth out and made us go thorough booking an appointment AGAIN!!!! So this nice scheduling girl calls and says "do you want this taken care of today?" The damn surgeon just assumed we couldn't get it taken care of and so we had to make another needless trip.
8. When we come back AGAIN, the pull takes 20 minutes! 20 F-ING, BLOODY, GOD DAMN MINUTES!
She could have had this done in 20 minutes and been out of pain. Instead they make her wait for days longer in pain just so they can charge her insurance for extra visits. What I wrote doesn't even cover 100 other things they did to make the experience as traumatic and unnecessarily horrible for her as possible.
These people are crooks and scum and should have their licenses taken from them and imprisoned. I'm not kidding. If they've done this to her they've done it to countless others. NEVER COME HERE and ESPECIALLY don't bring a loved one!!!
