  • Wow- really? 2 STARs for the CHIPS ONLY! We visited the Pedros on the West Side 7-28-12. In the past Pedros food has been delicious, We ate around 12:30 p.m. & have to say this was the 1st time ever that the enchiladas were extremely TOUGH. Took a bite & left the rest, was like chewing soft to medium shoe leather. The taco, enchilada style was also very tough & the meat inside was in big chunks, versus the normally shredded chicken. It was so tough, my spouse took the chicken out & ate it, discarded the outside shell. IF you can call it a shell, more like a shoe-leather CASING. Trust me, he usually eats most anything. Of course that defeats the purpose of ordering a taco, enchilada style - just eating plain chicken. Could have gone to KFC if plain chicken is was what he as hungry for. We did mention it to the waiter & he said, was everything else O.K.? The rest of it was rice & beans & the chips of course, the chips were delicious. (Rice was ultra-dry, over heated/cooked). Not $20. worth of delicious. Shouldn't have left a 20% tip but did, it's not his fault the food was lousy today. Whoever the cook was needs PRACTICE, LOT of PRACTICE. Did I just say they need practice? Maybe training & practice! After this uncertain I'd waste money on a treat to eat out again at Pedros. OK - so it wasn't a treat, at all. There are Mexican Restaurants in Madison with consistently good food. We asked if there were comment cards & told they don't have them. Very disappointed in the food today. Most likely will not be back to try it again, as there was no response when we mentioned how tough & inedible the food was. Just a thumbs up by the waiter. WHAT? Guess he didn't give a rip, so we truly should have let him know by not giving him a 20% tip. Bad service... & a learning experience I guess to go elsewhere if we want to enjoy tasty Mexican fare. Emailed them also - no response. When the chips are down (no pun intended), where's the manager of this establishment?
