  • Average REI. Good gear selection. Some of the employees are not all that helpful ... the one who eventually helped us pick out packs had some trouble with facial recognition. At first she thought I was "the customer looking for a tent." One of her coworkers ran up quickly and said, "no no no ... different customer different customer," gave an embarrassed smile and politely asked what I was looking for. Later the first employee made a slightly snide remark about the shoes I was wearing. They were out of rain covers, too, and didn't offer to order one. Overall, pretty average for an REI. I like the gear at REI but honestly the service at LL Bean is usually better.
