I was disappointed in this place because of the following reasons:
1. Games in poor condition:
Six of the games we picked out tonight had missing pieces (playing pieces, required papers, required pencils) or instructions, and none of them were organized/orderly when we opened the box. At Snakes and Lattes the games are in better condition - neat and tidy upon opening and never anything missing. I wonder if this is because at Snakes they ask you to put games you've played on a "returns" shelf and the staff then check to make sure everything is okay before they put it back into rotation?
2. Low quality and limited food choices
They only serve desserts here, and they aren't very good. My friend ordered a cake which was stale and another friend got a stomach ache after eating here - possible food poisoning? There is also no table service, so you have to go up to the counter to line up for your food and drinks. My friend had to wait 20 minutes in line to get her food, which cut into our playing time (they charge you per hour to be here).
3. No bonafide game gurus
The staff member who helped us explained the game poorly. Perhaps we have been spoiled by the much higher standard of game knowledge and teaching skills available at Snakes and Lattes. Combined with the missing instructions in the games we wanted to play, this caused a lot of headaches and wasted time. We were forced to put games back several times.
4. Poor acoustics/loud
This place is much louder than Snakes, making it difficult to talk to your friends at the same table.
