| - When you buy tires at Sam's Club you automatically pay $15.00 per tire to have them mounted. It sounds extreme, but comes with lifetime balancing, rotation, road hazard, and roadside tire change service. I called the club, spoke to Tim, asking for the phone number to use the tire change service. He said that service stopped in 2010. I asked for a manager. He would not put the manager on the phone but he told me that Josh, his manager, confirmed that the service was no longer available. I PAID FOR THAT SERVICE WHEN I BOUGHT THE "PREMIUM INSTALLATION PACKAGE", as they call it. He suggested I call corporate. Corporate told me I was right, the lady I spoke to, Crystal, called the store and explained to them that I was correct and they had no idea what they were talking about. She told me I would have to get the number to call from them. They gave me a number, it was for a different service, and they could not help me. I called corporate again, and spoke with someone that was worse than Tim. I called the store and raised hell to get the main manager on the phone. Finally Scott got on the phone and had the number I needed within about a minute. I had to tell Scott that I wasn't surprised that there was no explanation or apology coming from him, since he didn't even have the sense to train his employees. He then apologized and got off the phone. But wait, there's more! I finally got my tire changed after two hours on the phone. I took the tire to the store to be replaced. The gentleman working the tire counter told me that they couldn't change any tires because he was working all alone and company policy prohibited him from working in the shop alone. I went to another Sams Club to get the work done. I told the lady at that Sams Club what I just went through. She showed me that the phone number that I was trying to get all along was on the front of the envelope that Tim and the rest of the company give every customer their paperwork in. This jerk has a stack of envelopes in front of him explaining the service and with the phone number on it, and insists that the service doesn't exist. I will be getting a refund on my plus membership and only using my membership to get my warranty replacements on my tires because they, in the fine print, require you to remain a member to use your warranty on the tires. Sam's club sucks. I will be using Costco from now on.
