| - I don't get my haircut that often, but I like to go here because of the "extras" that are included: tea and coffee, aromatherapy with a little shoulder massage, mini facial, and hand treatment. It's all included in a reasonable price, and the facility does not has a no tipping policy (you can purchase products that may give the student something, but it's not a hard sell). If you don't go that frequently, they will also send you an email discount for $5.
It may take a little longer than a salon, but it depends on the busy-ness at the time of your appointment and the student. I have managed to get in and out in an hour before, but other times it took over two hours for just a basic haircut.
I've also tried the spa side before. It's definitely not like a typical spa experience, but if you are like the Aveda philosophy and products, it's a nice way to get a facial or other treatment at discount prices to a resort or casino. The setup is kind of like an Emergency Department with drapes separating the stations. It's not very quiet, though they have made improvements in that area. Bottom line, it's not somewhere you would go for zen relaxation, but on the plus side you can get a discounted facial.
