I've taken my car to Walters twice and he hasn't charged me anything for both times.
First time I brought my car in it was making noises near the wheels. I figure it had something to do with the brakes. It was an older car and things were rusted and old so I figure it was time to replace it. They looked over the car, test drove it, saw something was unaligned and fixed it easily. Didn't charge me anything because it was an easy and quick fix.
The second time, I dropped my car off because it was making a clunking sound whenever I would accelerate/brake. It's a newer car and I just bought it two months ago. So I was very annoyed that I had to bring it in already. I dropped it off at 10am and got a call at 2pm saying they test drove it, looked it over, saw suspension was fine, nothing wrong except for some loose stuff around the axle. They tightened everything back up and the problem was gone. When I asked how much do I owe them, he said nothing since they didn't fix anything just tightened it all up.
This is why the reviews keep saying they're honest. They could easily charge me for the easy fixes and labor. They could say I had more serious problems and I wouldn't know any better. But luckily they didn't. I was tight on money this month and was dreading to hear the bill.
I am happy driving my car again knowing the problem was small and there's no real issue with the car.
Receptionist was friendly, Tim was friendly, I found everyone there very easy to talk to and approachable. I called them on a Thursday and had an appointment the following week on a Friday. So it does take some time to get in with them but if your car can handle it, the wait is worth it.
