I always used to go to Higher Ground because I had a friend that worked there.
After a year of regular popping in their front door, I've come up with the following conclusions:
1) It's slow. Food service and drink service. They take their time.
2) It's expensive. Not the place to go for a cheap coffee and lunch.
3) The bathroom is a tiny hole in the wall, and, generally, dirty.
And a few positives....
4) The hipster, low-key crowd is kinda lovely. They have a lot of regulars and people who truly love their scene. I don't feel like it's the kind of place that gets all judgey.
5) It's a great place to work for a few hours. Big tables and you can sprawl out. If you can battle out with the wi-fi -- AND WIN -- you'll have a productive afternoon.
6) The London Fog's are amazing. Truly amazing. My favourite in the city.
Stop in for a London Fog, soak up the people and give it a shot.
