Echoing what other people have said, the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth is a decent hotel with a few shortcomings.
The good:
- It's located right beside the VIA train station. It's also centrally located so it's an easy walk to the Old Port, Mont Royal, and St. Catherine's St.
- It has a gym and a pool (full disclosure: I did not use either)
- Rooms are clean and have Keurig coffee machines, decent toiletries and a super zoom mirror that lets you examine your pores
- Staff are nice
The bad:
- The air conditioning unit is noisy and not very strong (it sounds like a slightly less noisy gas-powdered lawnmower)
- The rooms are small (for a queen room at least)
- The walls are thin so you can hear people talking outside
- Internet costs money unless you sign up for the President's Club (which takes a few minutes at most).
The ugly:
- The building itself (there's no elaborate castle-style architecture like other Fairmont properties)
