  • My first time at the West Side Market, I immediately spotted the chocolate eclairs at Michelle's Bakery. I had to try one, and it was perfect in every way: fresh, light choux dough, a generous smear of gooey dark chocolate on top, and loads of cream -- real cream -- inside. Now, that eclair is pretty much the main reason I go to the West Side Market -- battling the crowded aisles is totally worth it. But arrive early -- I rolled up to Michelle's for my eclair at about 4pm on Saturday, after a late lunch at Nate's, and the cabinets were dark and empty. Total devastation.
