| - Pizza reviews on Yelp are usually not all that helpful to me. There are too many different styles, preferences and expectations for comparing different pizza places. That being said, if you're looking for the "artisanal" style of pizza (small, relatively thin crust, simple but flavorful toppings, fired in a very hot wood oven), Cibo is a winner.
I love trying different pizza places (usually limiting myself to artisanal or new york style), and, for me the trinity of pizza perfection in Phoenix is Cibo, Bianco, and La Grande Orange (and NYPD if I need a lot of pizza). Bianco is great, but has long lines; La Grande Orange is a bit heavy on the toppings, but Cibo seems to get things just right for me.
Their crusts are flavorful, chewy around the outside, with just a slight bit of charring. However, the crust could stand to have a bit more structure toward the middle of the pizza (the crust will go limp if there are too many toppings). The toppings are fresh, flavorful, and of obviously high quality. If you want a pizza that is comparable to the legendary Bianco pizzas, Cibo is an excellent choice.
For dessert, try the strawberry (or banana) nutella crepes. The ambiance is great both inside and out, although the inside can get a bit loud. Also note that they allow you to order their pizza for pick-up.
