  • I preface with, the extra star given is due to politeness from the staff. Let's start from the beginning- I went in for a fill-in. I normally go to a place in Locust but needed somewhere close to work, after reading reviews, this looked the best closest to the university area. I got there right after opening and had no wait, which was nice. They started to sand down the original gel and I decided to go with matte white, which I've done before but from another salon, that was my first mistake, as they assured me they could do it. After over an hour, they finish, nails looked....ok, to say the least. I went back to work and the more I looked at them I noticed they were clunky, thick, bubbly, milky, chalky looking. I called them and said I was unsatisfied with them, they said to come back in, which is why the second star is selected. They claim the matte polish is what created this, they sanded it down, re-painted and tried again, and they still looked bad. The tried a polish top instead of matte and were all oohing and ahing saying it looked better and bringing over other technicians blaming the matte polish. I can tolerate this paint job but will not be going back. My nails are still thick and chunky looking, they didn't sand all the original gel off and just piled it on top, as well as used too many layers of paint. Not my cup of tea and I learned my lesson for branching out.
