Is it normal for them to charge for a service call when they can't figure out the problem? Our AC was acting up (not cooling, kicking on and off repeatedly) so we called them out. We had turned it off the night before so as not to cause more damage. When the tech came out he turned it on and didn't see anything wrong with it. I tried to explain what it was doing to help him figure out what to look for, since we obviously wanted to get it resolved before it shut down again. He seemed annoyed that I was asking questions and trying to figure out the problem, and was kindof rude. He charged me $67 for the trip and told me to call them again when it shut down again. Sure enough, a couple hours later it completely died and by then of course it is past closing time and we wouldn't be able to get anyone out until the next afternoon. My husband was fed up by this time and decided to take matters into his own hands. He did a little research, found a fan motor and capacitor at a local supplier and changed them out himself. AC is working great again. Just wish we wouldn't have wasted time and money on these guys.
