  • When my fiance and I first came into the Diamond and Company store (at the Scarborough Town Centre), we had a very good experience and interaction with one of the workers. The ring that I liked was out of my budget but she informed us of how we can do a few changes and we can still get the ring how we want it to be. As she discussed with her manager (I believe his name is Sammy or Fady...something like that), he approved. A few weeks later the employer called me to tell me the wax is in for the frame of my ring. When in went into the store, it looked a bit different than what I expected (not to my liking) and the worker stated "Don't worry, it'll be beautiful". My fiance picked up the ring, proposed and when I looked at the ring...it did not look like anything she promised. The ring was dipped in yellow gold which she did promise, but the shape and frame of it was not what we were expecting. I was highly disappointed and I do know the price my fiance paid for it and in my opinion, he was ripped off. This was our first experience... My second experience with Diamond and Company was when I went to go search for a St. Christopher pendant and chain for my fiance. When I went into the store, they only had female ones. Another worker that was there stated that we can order from their catalog. I saw one that I really liked and ordered it. The worker suggested a chain that I TOLD HER WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO SHORT, and she INSISTED it would be ok. When I got the chain and my fiance tried it on...IT WAS TOO SHORT. I had to go back to the store and exchange it and PAY AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE to get a different chain as the one she originally sold me didn't come in a longer size. We had to reorder this new chain and when it came the colour of the chain did NOT match the pendant. The manager (Fady/Sammy whatever his name is) said he can dip it to make it look more vintage. We said ok. He dipped it and it looked like crap. He also did some sort of buffing to the back of the pendant (which I didn't ask him to do). If this wasn't bad enough...two weeks after we got the chain, the clasp broke. Went in to get it fixed and it was ANOTHER CHARGE. I went from ordering one thing to getting something that was totally out of budget and not what I was looking for. I am highly annoyed with Diamond and Company and their lack of professional service. The only reason why I would even give this place one star was for our first experience with one of the workers there. She was friendly and made the experience nice, however the ring didn't even come out the way we wanted it. In the end, a bad complain is a bad complain. Take it for what its worth. Research your diamond, jewelry and the companies before settling on it. What may seem to be good, may not always be. My fiance and I like to work with budgets and are fair/reasonable. I DO NOT plan on shopping here again for jewelry and I suggest you don't either.
