The counter staff was reasonably friendly and accommodating, but (even more so than your typical motel) there were all sorts of skeezy weirdos hanging around the parking lot and even the lobby. Yeah, thanks for the good service, but go ahead and let this skeezy dude who has no reason to be here (and is casing the guests for potential robberies) listen to you tell me exactly what room I'm staying in and how to get there, so he can get there too. (And sure enough that same dude was randomly loitering all over the motel all day and night both nights I was there; pretty sure from how he was dressed and what he was doing that he didn't work in maintenance)
Thankfully I was packing light, and I made sure to park on the other end of the motel, so they had no prompt to mess with me, my room or my car. Even though my stay had otherwise no trouble, I had the risk weighing on my mind the entire time I was there, and couldn't really relax. Next time I visit Pittsburgh I'm staying just about anywhere else.
