I don't really understand what the hype is for this place.
However, I do appreciate that they open late. The interior of District One is quite interesting. I would say it reminded me of boiling crab but definitely a more upgrade version. The tables were quite spacious which is a huge plus for me.
The service was mediocre, I wished they were a little more attentive but I don't blame them since they were getting ready to close.
For appetizer we went with their oxtail fries. The fries were on the salty side. I probably won't recommend them unless you really like salt!
As for entrees my friends and I decided to try their pho. Usually when I order pho tai I like my meat on the side because I hate overcooked meat. However, I decided to leave it in my soup. My friend requested to have his meat on the side.
When we got our noodles, I noticed the soup wasn't really hot. My meat was still pink after 8 minutes! It wasn't even medium rare it was RAW. As for my friend his meat was just plain not cooked. We asked if we could have our phos reheated. They gave us a bowl of hot broth instead which was fine with us.
Overall, I never experienced pho like this before. I definitely wouldn't recommend my friends or family to try this place.
