VIBE AND ROOMS
This is a pantone lover's dream! I was here for a media preview so got to get a great overview of the hotel. Every floor is devoted to a different hue (very similar to the Pantone Hotel in Belgium) and the focus is on the essentials. So you won't get a bellman or a fancy pool but if you're jetlagged and really need a good night's rest, its bed is all class. I didn't want to test it because I knew I would immediately fall into a slumber. Its bathroom is very spa-like and is outfitted with products from Bath and Body Works. Everything here is colour coordinated to the the colour of the floor --so your pen on the desk and artwork on the wall is a signature colour.
These guys are also really social media savvy. They had an instagram contest in the summer and uploaded 80,000 colour themed pictures and made it into a mural. Hotel guests can still upload their pictures and they may be displayed in one of the 5 LCD screens as part of the display called ALTEXPO, found behind the reception desk. Impressive.
If you need to stay in the airport area, this is your best bet and links to the terminals as well. It's owned by the hotel masterminds behind the Hotel Germain so this three star property is all class and at the right pricepoint ($149 for EVERY room ...no hierarchy here).
I also really like the social aspect of the hotel lobby. You've got some really comfortable lounge chairs, a cool chair that hangs from the ceiling like a hammock, a pool table, bar and a grab-and-go food concept where you can eat in the lounge or in your room.
OBLIGATORY CATCHY REMARK
A great ALT-ernative to the chain hotel scene at the airport. I immediately thought "great New Years party place" when I was writing this review.
