| - I wanted so badly to like T-Bones. I've passed it a few times and always wanted to check it out. I always saw the huge patio and the view of the lake and thought it'd be so nice to go to on a sunny day. Unfortunately it's not one of my favorites.
To start, the hostess' were not very welcoming when we walked in. I felt like we were inconvenniencing them by coming to spend money at their restaurant. She was not very nice and before even greeting us, she bluntly told us that the patio was closed and we couldn't sit out there. We kind of ignored it and moved on and walked in. We walked past another girl who I couldn't really tell if she worked there or not but I assumed she did since she was just standing by the host station and as we walked past her she just stared at us again making us feel like we were not welcome. No smile, no hi, nothing. So at this point we were a little taken back but continued in. We went to the bar, yet again to be greeted angrily and rudely by the bartender. (at this point we should have left but we really wanted to see the view) She asked my boyfriend what he wanted completely ignoring me because as I already know, I look young but regardless if someone is standing at your bar, you approach them regardless (after years of bartending, I've learned this and would hope any bartender would do the same). So after flagging her down I ordered my drink and before I could even finish, she demanded my ID. I obviously gave it to her and received my drink, no apologies from the bartender.
We then saw people outside so figured the deck was, in fact, not closed. We went outside and found out that we could sit outside with our cocktails and if we wanted, order food inside and then bring it out ourselves. Fine, thats understandable. So thats what we did. We got wings and the hummus dip appetizer. Food was ok, nothing exciting, nothing terrible, definitely not worth the negativity we had to go through to get it.
Not sure if I will be returning to T-Bones. I want to because of the views, but I'd rather be treated better at a restaurant that does not have the same views.
