I work for an apartment community developer, that is nation wide. We are one of the largest multifamily owners in the nation, and have our own management, remodeling, and general contractor departments. We recently purchased 3 communities in the Las Vegas area. These apartments are in need of minor roof repair, and have already been inspected. I called Roof It Right a few weeks ago for an estimate. Today I returned Jim's call and this was our conversation:
Hello Jim, this is rachel with __, I'm returning your call about the apartment homes that we needed to have repairs done.
Hello, thanks for calling back, sorry we've been so busy with the windstorms. So, I'm confused, I have 3 addresses down for you. Why are there 3 addresses?
Well, 3 addresses is correct, we have 3 apartment communities. Those three communities have tile roofs, and are in need of tile replacement, and a few resealed penetrations. We would like to have you out for bid if you're interested.
Yes, can you send all this information to my email, my email address is ___.
Ok. Great, how soon do you think you'll be able to come out.
Well, I don't get to sit around on my pretty ass all day like you, I actually have to get up on a roof and do real work, so it's going to be at least a couple weeks because I just don't have time.
Well, I don't just sit around all day, but if the soonest you can come out is a couple of weeks, we will make it work. How soon after coming out for a bid would you be able to provide a price.
Well - see - here's the thing. I'm not interested in working for free, and your not some little old lady I want to help out. You probably have some tiny ass house and it's just not worth my time to come out there unless you're going to pay me for a bid.
Sir the bid would be for the 3 apartment communities that we own, each has close to 10 buildings. We already have inspected the roof ourselves, we are just looking to subcontract the work out.
Well, i'm not sure who you think you are, but i'm not going to listen to some stuck up fucking bitch that doesn't know shit about roofs, and if you think you're going to waste my fucking time with shit, your wrong...
I cut him off and said sir, that is not the case, but I will not be spoken this way so the conversation is over. And I hung up.
The cox install man was in the office fixing our office internet, he looked at me and apologized for the man on the phone.
I will never call this company again, and do not recommend anyone else does.
