| - I love the Big Shot.
But that doesn't mean I am strong enough to EVER ride it again.
Well, I probably will...but each time, I swear it's the last. Because each time I am terrified, usually cursing (if there aren't brave children near me), and screaming that I am going to fly out of the seat and land with a splat far out in the desert.
It's a terrifically sublime experience to be floating out there on a little seat, facing the city and desert and mountains and knowing that you willingly paid money to be allowed to plunge straight down from it. And the sense of losing control - not knowing quite when you will drop, and from the height of the Stratosphere, no less - there's nothing like it. It is absolutely terrifying and completely exhilarating.
So setting the stage with that description of what the ride is like, I should also add that after the very first time I rode this ride, my husband proposed to me. As if adrenaline, endorphins, and whatever else there is inside me wasn't pulsing enough?!? It was pretty cool - we were standing on a ledge by the exit platforms and it was wonderful.
And although he's not generally the thrill-seeker among the two of us, it's one of the main reasons I can never say no when asked to ride Big Shot again.
(Hurray for my 200th review!)
