I was surprised when I got a flyer in the mail that this location existed. It is just a few blocks away from the house so decided to drop by next time an opportunity presented itself. My DH and I usually go to VP together for salads but he was out of town (no salad!) and I wanted to watch the hockey game somewhere out so decided this was my chance to try this location. They are an establishment that I would not hesitate to go alone, but had a friend that wanted to watch the game as well, so she met me there. We both like a little gaming and it took a few minutes but getting two machines together at the bar was not too difficult.
We played and watched the game had a drink and then ordered food. She had the sliders that she said were very good and I had the California Chicken Panini (ordered no cheese, but I think a little slipped in there). The panini was very tasty but the side of coleslaw was delicious! I don't usually go looking for coleslaw but this was great. It was very fresh-still crunchy-not soggy cabbage swimming in mayo and it had a little hot bite to it that I loved. I hope that wasn't a one-off because I will be ordering the slaw again for sure.
All in all the food was better than expected and the service at the bar was excellent, very attentive and accommodating. I am a non-smoker and it was smoky, but that is expected in a bar so I don't complain. Not sure I will get my DH (non-gamer) to eat in the restaurant if it is very smoky, but I will give it a try and hope for the best!
As Vegas V said, it is 100% better than PT's Gold down the street...
