  • Disappointing would be the best word to describe my experience. It was a typical busy end of the month Saturday night for us and we made reservations for 8:30 pm(since we worked late that day). The restaurant is located UPSTAIRS in the Wild Horse Hotel/Casino and it is much easier to park with HOTEL SIDE Valet then to try and navigate the garage or parking lot.. From there you will avoid the excessively smoky casino main floor as well. We arrived a couple of minutes early and checked in at the Shula's desk. There is absolutely no waiting area for guests, with the exception of two livingroom chairs....,so... it is whoever can plop their fat ass in there the fastest. Unfortunately I never was that great at musical chairs..haha.. You are forced to stand and wait or go back outside to the smoke. We were seated 12 minutes late..no big deal,..then left alone for 6 minutes at a very cold 2 seater table ( under the vent) with no water or bread. Once we were initially served ( they were cordial) we were given menus and some iced water and wine options. 7 minutes later the comp bread and butter came out and it was crunchy and delicious. We ordered the NY Strip 16 oz,,medium, lobster bisque soup, blackened scallop appetizer and wedge salad with vinegarette and asparagus. It was a birthday treat ,so they later comped us a nice chocolate cake slice with strawberry decor...which was very tasty initially but super sweet...could not finish it. The salad was crisp and delicious and the dressing was just right with the blue cheeze bacon toppings. The Lobster bisque tasted like a lukewarm bowl of canned soup, bland, milky and for $12 bucks a major flop...we sent it back and asked to delete from the order. The 16 oz boneless strip steak came next and it was thick and cooked properly but very salty and overly quick- seasoned. I have had much better cuts at the K*g for a better value....it did not settle very well with my stomach either. But that being said,it was grilled correctly, just not marinated the right way....too chewy. The asparagus was steamed to perfection and it was by far the best prepared part of the meal. Kudoos for perfect asparagus...so you got that going for you...which is nice. if you LOVE noisy restaurants, this is the place for you...the decible level inside the place was louder than the bar area with the reggae jazz band.....a little bit annoying for fine dining. The scallops were limp and burnt ( they claim they were not and when I sent them back the waitress brought me back one with the black scraped off of the scallop. I thought that was piss poor service from a steak house. They did not remove them from the ticket,so 14 dollars was wasted. I didn't gripe since they comped the chocolate cake.....just know I won't be back here. Too slow, too noisy and food............well you can get a better meal at Bla** Ang** or The Ke* for way less strain on your wallet. Maybe they have so much business from the casino it doesn't matter....but if I was a Shula, i would have the manager running two-a days to get in shape and studying the playbook. CT*
