| - I'm so pleased to have stumbled across this utterly lovely yarn shop, which has a wonderful selection of appealing yarns, many of them luxury varieties in a range of natural fibers, along with needles and other tools, project bags, hand-thrown ceramic yarn bowls, books, and patterns, in addition to a selection of fabrics on bolts and in fat quarters.
Very charming and helpful staff. I felt comfortable browsing at length and ended up buying several skeins of delicious yarn in merino wool and alpaca.
Huge bonus: They offered to (and did) wind all my skeins into balls--for free--using their lovely wooden swift and yarn winder.
Highly recommended overall. I'll be back to this shop many times.
PS I have a suggestion for EweKnit, which is to change their window display. The window is always a bit dark, making it appear as if the shop is closed when it is actually open. But also, the display doesn't make it obvious that the store is a yarn/knitting store unless you are standing with your nose right up against the window. When you're walking down the street, you can hardly tell what kind of shop it is. A bigger sign and some larger images or display objects denoting "knitting" or "yarn" would probably help the shop draw in a lot more street traffic!
