  • So you know how it is said that 'You can't have everything..." at Getoutside, they've been trying for years to prove that wrong, and doing a pretty good job of it as well. Over the years I've bough about a half dozen pairs of shoes here and if there is one bit of retail that I'm very familiar with it is shoe stores. I have a, we'll say, 'modest' collection of shoes. I've been to all of the shoe stores in the city and bought shoes from many of them but Getoutside has a few qualities that you just don't find anywhere else. The main thing you'll notice at Getoutside is the sheer selection they offer in the space they have. The store isn't very large, even though they have expanded it from the original one store front, its still dwarfed by the Davids, Cole Haan's and Towne Shoes of the city yet Getoutside manages to offer the shoes you want to see from many different makes. If you're in the market for a pair of sneaks, they have all the main brands, if you're looking for something a bit more dressed up, they have those as well. They even stock some of the more obscure makes that you'd usually have to find online. The next thing you'll notice is the atmosphere or 'ambiance' if you will. Put simply, Its super welcoming. The aesthetics are really warm and the space usage is well thought out, the staff as well is really what will get you coming back a second and third time. No matter if you're buying a $50 pair of Toms or a $500 pair of Fryes, you're treated the same, with respect and a great attitude / knowledge of the product. Trust in someone who's been around the shoe store block more than a few times, that's a rarity. Try going into a certain shoe store at Bay and Bloor and see how the service is if you're looking at anything under $300, its not pleasant and it really does make a difference. I highly recommend them to anyone as the first place they go to on their shoe shopping quest, you will be surprised at how good they are and how many times you'll end up back there in the future.
