| - Yesterday, very much in need of an hour and a bit of yoga, I attended the Vinyasa 1 class at Yogaspace. I'd heard quite abit about the studio from Erin B, my former preceptor, nursing colleague, and (to be quite honest) oft-time guru, and was very excited to try this studio out.
The studio is very open, and the staff seem so welcoming. The reception man engaged me in conversation about how may studio's I'd been to on my passport, what kind of yoga I normally did, and how my summer was going. He was also very helpful in orienting me to the studio and didn't verbally attack me when I was a little slow in the uptake of taking off my sandals. I met Fiona, the instructor on my way in, and she seemed very lovely. Excited to begin, I made my way downstairs to the change room. Ah, the change room; one of the few downsides of this studio. It was quite small and I may have knocked myself between the eyes with someone's mat end as it sat in it's rented mat space. Oh, and they have space you can leave your mat!
The class itself was enjoyable; I think I could have afforded myself a more difficult class, and I did miss tree. It's not yoga if there's no tree pose (at least to me)! That said, there was a great focus on breathing, and Fiona was exceptional at getting the entire class to breathe in unison.
The studio has a number of different types of classes, a number of available times; I would love to try a few different classes, to get a better feel, and it's also nice to know that a 5 class pass is available for something a little more short-term.
