| - It's Spring Break so I figured it would be a little busier than usual. Quite the understatement! The lines for both Members and General Admissions were out the door. It took about 20 minutes for us to get up to the cashier for General Admission. The price point is a little steep for what you get - about $32 for 1 adult, 1 child, and 6 feeding tokens - and that was with a 25% off coupon.
First stop was the Caribbean Cove where we bought some tiny shrimp to feed the stingrays. Really fun and exciting for my kiddo. Next, we spent a lot of time waiting in line to sit and feed the parakeets in their enclosure. The employee working the enclosure wasn't monitoring the lines and a family of four pushed their way to the front, cutting in front of a few families. The time he allowed each group in the enclosure seemed to vary, which made our wait time pretty long. I'd say it was at least a 30 minute wait but we waited because the kiddo really wanted to feed the birds. When we finally got in, the employee gave us only about 5 minutes before he rotated us out. Really irritating, especially when he let one group stay for almost 10 minutes (yes, I timed it). Anyhow, after that, we went outside to the playground area. One of the steps on the play set was loose and wiggled every time a kid stepped on it. Definitely a safety hazard so I reported it to a staff member. Spent some time touching starfish, feeding a capybara and some sharks, then called it a day.
Overpriced, overcrowded, understaffed. One of those places where you go once and never have to go again.
