| - I went to the Cadillac Lounge to see a band and eat some BBQ. I had been once before, with no plans to rush back, but a friend's band was playing, and I had heard that there was a new BBQ menu, so this was enough to increase my enthusiasm.
I can't really comment on the atmosphere, because there was a hockey game on, and when I walked in, it was packed, but eerily quiet, with all the patrons glued to the televisions. I sat at the bar, and service was slow, but there did seem to be many patrons and not so many staff.
I ended up ordering a pint of beer, and later on, a half rack of ribs. I was very excited about ordering ribs. The ribs were smoked and had a very dark, sweet and slightly vinegary sauce. They were much more meaty and toothsome than I had anticipated, which actually made them really fun to eat, but I was wishing the meat was slightly more tender. The ribs come with fries, coleslaw and homemade baked beans. The beans came in their own tiny little pot, and were also more toothsome than anticipated, and had a distinct flavour that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Everything worked well together, and I liked the variety of sides.
This is not the best BBQ I have ever had, but for a casual night watching a band at the Cadillac Lounge, this really hit the spot. I like it at the Cadillac Lounge, and going back to watch a band and eat some BBQ is on my to do list.
