| - This review was based on a 2 night stay when I was in Pittsburgh to attend a conference. I chose it mainly because it was fairly close to downtown and fairly reasonably priced, but ended up enjoying my stay there. Some specifics:
Service: Quite friendly. When I showed up 3 hours before the "official" check-in time they rushed to get my room ready so I could check in a couple hours early.
Room (I had a "standard" room): Nice enough. The bed was comfortable, the area was quiet enough at night to get a good night's sleep, and the all important chocolates on the pillow were tasty. The bathroom was a bit small, and only featured a shower.
Atmosphere: Lovely. It was the sort of place that cried out for a good book, a hot cup of tea, and a long, lazy afternoon. In fact, I noticed in from the guestbook that at least some of the guests were Pittsburgh folk coming in to enjoy the coziness of the place.
Location: In terms of accessibility to everything, excellent. I was easily able to walk across the river to downtown and the convention center. The neighborhood did seem a bit sketchy (especially walking under the highway to get back from downtown), but its an inexpensive cab ride from downtown if you're heading back after dark.
Price: Reasonable enough, especially compared with places nearby (my "standard" room was $140 per night)
