| - I was really excited to take a class here. I went to the Chef's Menu class, where we were to make risotto, a salad, baked fish, and chocolate tart. I've never been so disappointed. Don't waste your money.
In my 2 hours there, I chopped one shallot, took the leaves off a romary sprig, and deseeded a pomegranate. I PAID 70 BUCKS FOR THIS?
There were 4 of us "making" the risotto, and we only started it. After we each did our tiny part (this is where I chopped my shallot), the risotto was passed off to the the teachers to finish making, as we moved onto the fish.
For the fish, I got to pull the leaves off the rosemary. That's it! There were 8 of us working on one piece of fish. And 8 of us made the salad, where I got the oh so educational task of de seeding the pomegranate.
I never got to do anything for the tart. We watched the chef make the tart, then pass a bowl of whipping cream around the room, where the first 5 "lucky" people got to each take a turn with the whisk and try to whip the cream, and everyone else did nothing. If I wanted to watch a chef make a tart, I can do this on the food network. I do not need to pay 70 bucks.
I learned nothing in this class. I was expecting to make everything, but instead made absolutely nothing. The food was good (again all shared with your team, so you only get a bite or 2 of each) but I would never recommend any class here for this price.
