We have been coming to Monroe's Orchards for almost 40 years--that's three generations! It's about time I wrote a review! We love taking Sunday or weekday drives with Monroe's as our destination! Located an hour's drive due south of the Lake Erie shoreline, Monroe's Orchards is located on a glacial ridge where the soil is rich for growing just about every fruit known to NE Ohio. The strawberry picking is fine in June (or you can pick up pre-picked quarts)! The taste of Georgia peaches pales in comparison to those grown on this orchard and the raspberries, cherries--both sweet and sour--make a drive to Monroe's worthwhile in the month of July! Autumn wouldn't be autumn without a weekly trip out for varieties of apples, fresh pressed apple cider, pumpkins and gourds. It's a blessing that some things, like this treasured gem, don't change! Plus from whatever direction you come, you have to drive over the river and through the woods along the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains to get there! Just know that they close for the season sometime just before Christmas.
