I traveled quite a ways to eat here this afternoon. Got off work early and had a rare craving for good chinese food. The reviews were good so I traveled the distance.
Resturaunt was very clean...Every detail touched...a big plus for me, especially after my horrible experience at the Gilbert Floridino's two weeks ago. Anyway...server was sweet, but a significant language barrier.
Since it was my first time, I kept it simple. Chicken Lo Mein. It was truly the best I have had. The vegetables crisp, chicken and noodles cooked just right with savory flavors. An excellent cook myself, I can identify.
The language barrier incurred an extra charge for fried rice, that I did not order...I noticed this when I was given the bill, and I mentioned to the nice server that I did not order that...she clearly did not understand...she was placing all my leftovers in the box and accidentally dumped the full 32 oz glass of water all over me.
I'm pretty darn laid back...I told her it was ok...I helped her clean up the water. I was disappointed, not because I was drenched and cold, but because I never received an apology.
Regardless...it can not take away from the delicious food and atmosphere...very quaint. I will return.
