  • I was uneasy about going here as the stratosphere is lame and I assumed it wouldn't have nice restaurants. I've been here for 4 years and I was so wrong. The service was FANTASTIC! The view is alright, we arrived just before the sunset so by the time we were eating our first course, we were looking at east vegas. Yikes. The food was outstanding and the wine pairing was divine! We were seated promptly even though we were ten minutes late on the Saturday evening before Valentine's Day. Our table was very small but it's an observation tower so *shrug*. We were greeted by Rebecca and she is the best server I've ever had in fine dining. Very informative and attentive she made our whole evening! She recommended the prefixe menu with the wine pairing. My boyfriend and I both had the lobster bisque, scallops, portobello mushroom, filet mignon with the gulf shrimp, and for dessert, a white chocolate bowl with fruit and cream. We finished our night with Pinot Grigio and a Fat Tire. Lobster bisque- presentation was beautiful, lobster tasted kind of chalky, it was good not great. Scallops- good, slightly on the chewy side. The Fish Hopper in Carmel has the best scallops so my standard is already pretty high. There was only one scallop, but it's a prefixe I get it. Portobello mushroom- I hate mushrooms but my boyfriend loves them and it wasn't that bad. The plate had three slices of mushroom served with roasted tomato, mozzarella and balsamic vinegar. Filet mignon with gulf shrimp- medium rare, this dish took the longest but with the wine parings we had, time seemed slow anyway! This steak is huge. I'm so sad I couldn't finish it! It had a delicious mushroom sauce that went well with the buttery mashed potatoes and a. The gulf shrimp was not peeled so that was agitating because it's fine dining. Would you want to eat feces if you had a choice? Exactly. I took out the nasty stuff and continued eating. Super juicy and succulent every bite was heaven. White chocolate bowl with fruit and cream- just that. Nothing gourmet or decedent. It also came with a small bowl that had a dark chocolate ganache that tasted like powered Swiss Miss and two small white chocolate decorations on top. Nothing to write home about, it was way too much sugar for me. I prefer a balance. The wine- Rebecca served us just as the meals came out and gave a detailed description of the glasses. I could have went with the Cabernet but it's steak so I couldn't fight. The first wine she gave us was a Pinot Grigio from France? It was so ideal, my taste buds fell exactly in line and it was the perfect set up for the rest of the food that followed. I had the best Valentine's dinner with my sweetheart thanks to Rebecca. We definitely felt on top of the world
