  • Let me start by saying Michelle wasn't originally scheduled to attend my delivery. However, she and my doula have an arrangement to be one another's backup in the event that one of them can't attend a delivery. Michelle was anything but a "backup". My husband and I didn't meet her until I was in labor. However, she jumped right in! Unfortunately, I had to be induced and I was at a hospital that was not particularly supportive of unmedicated births. Michelle was so knowledgeable about the induction process, the hospital, and even the staff. Every step of the way, she explained what to expect and how we could best advocate for ourselves. Overall, my birth was very difficult and there were a lot of unexpected complications, but I am completely certain that I had the best possible experience in spite of those complications, and that was all because of Michelle's knowledge and support. My husband and I have already decided we will use a doula for any future children, and Michelle is top-notch! (Side note, she takes AMAZING photos that you will cherish forever!)
