| - Located in the Palazzo Hotel, it's not the best Italian food on the Strip, plus the service was poor. We spotted this restaurant, after seeing the huge line for Carlos' Bakery. That's the bakery from the TV show Cake Boss. Honestly, who would wait 30 minutes for a pastry, when Sprinkles Cupcakes is down the street and pure perfection. Anyway, we saw Buddy V's and read the menu at the front door. The prices seemed reasonable for a Strip restaurant, so we made reservations for 7:00 p.m. We arrived on time, only to wait 30 minutes while they took walk-ins before us. Once seated, the greeting was non-existent. I actually had to stop our waiter, and ask what his name was. It was Chas. After bringing our beverages, he quickly recited the one special, and he asked what we wanted. Totally rushed. I stopped him right there, and began asking questions about the restaurant. "Chas, who is Carlos?" "If Carlos and Buddy V are famous for their cakes, why did they open an Italian restaurant?" As he became increasingly annoyed with my questions, he explained that the restaurant is based on Buddy V's grandmother's recipes, not Buddy's recipes. Naturally, I commented that Buddy V shouldn't have his name on the restaurant if they're not his recipes. Oh well, just a logically conclusion. The veal Marsala came with a side of pasta. The pasta was good, but the veal Marsala was tough and the sauce was tasteless. Really salty and bland. Our dining experience lasted a quick 35 minutes...even with my insistent questions. Don't waste your money or 35 minutes eating here. There's lots better Italian restaurants on The Strip.
