OK ... so I am in town on business (why else would I be in LV?) during the height of the summer and so I was wearing trail sandals. I noticed that the stitching was pretty much gone but the sandals had a lot of wear left in them, and they were very expensive. I called around to a couple of shoe repair places and you would have thought they were doing me a favor by talking to me ... yessir we repair shoes, nosir we cannot do a walk-in repair, but if you leave them with us we will be able to get to them in 10 days to 2 weeks, and it will only cost you more than a really nice local hotel room fee. Uh huh. Yea, right. So then I call Mike's. And Mike answers the phone. There really *IS* a Mike. He says to come on down and he will take care of it right away. Really? I am on my way. And I was. 15 minutes later I am there, and 5 minutes after that I was on my way. I decided that Mike was charging me too little for the repair so I paid him double and was happy with the transaction. And on the way out I rubbed the Buddha's belly and left a nice tip in the Buddha's alms bowl in order to ensure my spiritual enlightenment and his full belly, and perhaps assure my pathway to Heaven. After all, ya never know.
