I'm reluctant to post this as we really want to support Lake Las Vegas. This property has so much potential. Two wonderful pools, amazing views of Lake Las Vegas, resort vibe with infused water in the lobby, several lounges to enjoy a beverage and several activities for kids and family, Aveda spa......
Now for the bad news.......
We treated mom and her BFF for an overnight stay for Mother's Day and also got a room for ourselves. While we booked via an online travel site, the front desk wouldn't check my mom in until we called to approve it. Being that we were driving home from Phoenix, I had limited cell service so my mom had to cool her heels in the lobby. Front desk staff was not as professional as other Westin properties that we've visited in other states.
Once we checked in, we came down to see my mom's room and it was embarrassing. The ottoman had a giant rip, carpet was stained and dirty and there was no mini refrigerator. Our room wasn't much better. Bed very uncomfortable and stained (Westin hotels usually have their own brand Heavenly Beds) weird hairs on bed. There was no fan in the bathroom (and also no window to let fresh air in) and thus there was a perpetual sewer smell. And the bathroom lock was broken.
We made a reservation for the property's upscale steak and sushi restaurant. The service was excellent and they comped us a couple of deserts: my mom snapped at the server and I apologized to her privately, explaining the snafu at check in. One note... Four out of five of us ended up having tummy problems the next day after eating the sushi... No need to go into details...
Note to Westin management: please restore this property!!!
