| - Me After A Brutal Drive Through Labor Day Traffic: Need bath. Need sleep. [for the record, I am old and about to turn 28 so I can no longer party til 5am after a 7+ hour drive from Santa Monica to Sin City]
Hotel Room Door: Ha ha! I refuse to open for you!
Security Guard: [taking 20 minutes to arrive] Sorry about that. Here are your new keys, they should work now... wait... um... doh. [security guard proceeds to go up and down between our room and the hotel lobby before getting us working keys]
Me Finally In The Room After The Semi-Inconvenient Key Ordeal: Mmm, bath in the jacuzzi tub.
Jacuzzi Bathtub: Ha ha! I am broken and my jacuzzi jets refuse to work!
Me: [sniffle]
Hotel Lobby Person: Sorry about that. We'll have it fixed by tomorrow.
Me The Next Day After Losing Several Hundred Dollars Gambling: Have the jacuzzi jets in the tub been fixed yet?
Hotel Lobby Person: Yes, it's been fixed and ready for you!
Me: Mmmmm jacuzzi bath.
Jacuzzi Bathtub: Ha ha! I am still broken! No bath for you!
Me: Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh. [calling maintanence]
Maintanence Man: Um, I will have to disassemble your entire tub in order to fix this.
[at this point I morph into bitch mode]
The Results: Studio room upgrade to a 1-bedroom suite (with a freaking oven, stove, full fridge with freezer, toaster, blender, huge couch, dining area, 3 TV's, tv in the bathroom mirror, extra full shower, dual-showerhead shower in the main bathroom, etc.).
Me: Wheeeee new room! [STAB] AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!
[at this point I was stabbed by a carpet staple connecting the carpet to the floor between the bedroom and bathroom]
[bitch mode x 2]
The Results: Two free Trump robes to take home for our "guest inconvenience" and a $50 room credit which was used on room service.
Two thumbs up to to Daniel (the manager on duty at the time) for hooking it up and for doing his best to compensate for the multiple mishaps. Mmm comfy Trump robes. The location of the hotel was nice, a short walk away from the Wynn (do-able even in heels) and a quiet, casino-free getaway. Room service was fast and professional at 3am although they ran out of salsa for my quesadillas (??!!). At least the chicken wrap was tasty.
Two thumbs down to the hotel lobby staff we had to deal with who were rude, snippy, unprofesional liars who gave us serious and uncalled for attitude after we voiced our complaints and concerns. The pool was tiny and boring, the carpet was potentially dangerous (another maintanence person came to hammer down whatever was poking up), and the cheesecake was underwhelming.
All in all a mixed experience. I was very disappointed in the unprofessionalism of the hotel lobby staff but impressed and happy with the service and treatment from the manager.
