| - We have lived here for 1 month. The person who helped us with getting an apartment in June was very nice, however, we have never dealt with her since and the gentleman who was here when we got the keys was completely unhelpful and uninterested. I wanted to do a walk through of the apartment to report damages which is in the lease btw, he didn't care to do it. He told me to go and look it over and take photos of anything I found wrong with the apartment and save them for my move out inspection. The list of things was frustrating but one of the most annoying things is they require you to pay a nonrefundable 300$ redecorating fee, yet you can clearly see they only spot painted before we moved in. Literally on the ceiling you can see the spot painting, the main walls and how they taped off the kitchen and painted the ceiling there and the reason we can tell is because the apartment was originally painted with flat paint and the spot painting and the paint in the kitchen is gloss. Additionally the apartment was no clean...I paid cleaning deposit...does this mean I can leave without cleaning the apartment and trust that the next tenant is going to walk into a clean apartment?? Umm...nope...
However, my biggest issue has been that 8 days ago my 5lb dog was charged and attacked by another dog. The people whose dog it was did not offer a hand in any way and left me standing there holding a severely injured and profusely bleeding dog and took off. Long story short, my dog nearly died but apparently had too much fight in her so the vets said they could not in good conscious euthanize her so we have spent $$$$. I reported the incident to the office who happened to be the same guy who was uninterested in our move in and was just as uninterested and essentially said "nothing we can do." I told him I would like help finding the people who own the dogs and he directed me to Keva and she dutifully took notes on the back of a map which probably went right in the shredder and said all the right things (II have dogs and I can't imagine...I don't want the dog on the property etc) but has not bothered to check in with us at all. I have no desire to sue the people whose dog did this, however, I now feel I have a duty to inform every dog owner to be on the look out.
Even without the dog incident which I understand is not the apartments fault, knowing what I now know, I would not rent here again and will not be recommending this property to others. That said my experience with other Ovation properties was much better and I believe the Ovation name does not belong on this apartment complex.
