++ Strong matcha flavor in shaved snow
++ Coffee milk tea
- boba
[4.5 overall]
Coming from San Gabriel Valley, shaved snow has been a thing for a while, so I've had my fair share of the good and bad. Craving some sweets and boba I decided to stop here because it encompassed all of this.
I ordered a small green tea with custard pudding and condensed milk. The green tea was on point! Some places back at home miss the infusion of the green tea flavor into the ice, so what you end up getting is green-colored ice with very little matcha flavor. But this place had a strong matcha flavor. However I was a little disappointed in the amount of custard pudding and the condensed milk. I felt that there could have been more of both to balance out the flavor, but the redeeming quality was the stronger matcha flavor in this mixture. If not providing a balance of condensed milk would have been better, I felt mine was relegated to one side or light handed in application. Also it was mainly on the custard which is already sweet.
For my boba I ended up getting the coffee milk tea this was something new for me, I usually get a regular boba milk tea if I'm trying some new boba place. The coffee milk tea tastes great, it wasn't too sweet or bitter; it was a good balance. Only downside was the boba, it was undercooked. I didn't finish the boba because it was too hard.
I would come back again for the shaved snow and coffee milk tea, but I might hold off on the boba. It would depend on my boba craving, I would order it mainly for convenience since I can kill two birds with one stone. If I only wanted boba I would search elsewhere.
