  • My wife and I just spent 2 weeks here, as we have been doing for many years now. We still love this place: the beautiful and immaculately kept grounds, the spacious suites, the 2 pool + hot tub areas, the well-equipped gym, the bountiful complimentary breakfast, and especially the staff--at the front desk, at the omelette station and the other attendants at breakfast, and the absolutely wonderful housekeepers, all of whom have made us feel at home. But... The Granada Bar & Grill continues to be a major disappointment. In fact, we both think it is even worse than last year. Compared to its former self as the 4th Floor Grill (before Embassy Suites took over the family owned Chaparral Suites), the menu is very limited and the food is extremely mediocre at best. For example, what happened to the fabulous double pork chop dinner from the 4th Floor Grill? And the salmon on the 2 different salads we ordered tasted freezer stale, dry, and fishy. The 2 meals we had here were by far the worst we had in the many places we dined in our 2 weeks in Scottsdale. The entire concept needs to be redone! At breakfast, do the televisions really need to be monopolized by Fox News? Come on! Still miss the former gift shop. And can't we have the Times or WSJ or AZ republic available as they used to be in the gift shop? I love children [Have had a few of my own.] and I love hearing and seeing them at the hotel. But should young children really be allowed in the hot tub--regardless of the amount of chlorine? Need I say more? The wifi continues to be slow and erratic. That's a daily nuisance. OK, that's enough complaining, because we really love this place and we will certainly be back. The grounds, the facilities and the staff will continue to make this our Scottsdale home.
