I really had high hopes for the biscotti here. The store front is so inviting, hip, nice selection of pastries but obviously biscotti is their specialty so that is what my husband and I bought. We should have just picked up a few to try our mistake was buying a dozen.
I asked what their best sellers were and all the best sellers are dipped in chocolate. I really wanted to taste their twice baked biscuits flavor profiles without the chocolate distraction so we bought an assortment of different flavors. After my first bite..... I knew why their best sellers are dipped in chocolate.
The biscotti are visually beautiful, texturally they are traditionally hard and toothsome (definitely need to dip these cookies in liquid) they are traditional even in their sugar/flour ratio but that doesn't mean they should be flavorless?? You could not pick out the almond, anise or orange flavors they were suppose to contain. In all honesty these were the most bland flavorless biscotti I have ever tried. My husband also thought they were equally as boring and the dozen biscotti were unfortunately thrown in the bin. I really wanted to like this place too. Maybe their other confections are more flavorful but I would not recommend the biscotti.
